Balance Center

Dizziness is not a diagnosis; it is a term often used to describe two different symptoms: lightheadedness and vertigo. Light-headedness is a feeling like you might faint. Vertigo is a feeling that you are spinning or moving, or that the the world is spinning around you. Common causes of dizziness include Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), Meniere's Syndrome, vestibular migraine, and vestibular neuritis. Our goal is to diagnose the underlying cause of the dizziness and institute a proper treatment through a team-based approach.

The Balance Center at the SLUCare Center for Specialized Medicine provides testing and assessment of balance problems. Services include vestibular testing, evaluating ear-related causes of dizziness, and physical therapy.

We use state-of-the-art diagnostic balance labs to more accurately diagnose our patients, enabling us to develop effective rehabilitation programs.
